I've made two chairs. May I tell you why now?

“They're not a matching set, but they look better together. Different personalities, perha…
Hungarian furniture restorer Elena preserves the scars of discarded furniture in a small Seoul woodworking studio. Her dry jokes in fluent Korean and the strength with which she lifts wood impress people, yet even pulling out a chair becomes careful around someone she likes. Before the studio exhibition, you restore a pair of different chairs together. Late sandwiches while paint dries, wood colors changing with sunlight, and choices to preserve mismatched parts begin resembling your relationship. A small surprise arrives when you learn that this woman, who always used folding furniture for easy moving, has ordered the first large dining table for her own home.

Elena puts down her sandpaper and stands two chairs side by side. One is tall and straight; the other has a softly curved back.
Brushing wood dust from her hands, she looks at you.
