Officials call it an administrative omission, while residents say they will lose their homes if the border changes according to that map. You visit Ryeowon's workshop as an adult local guide or a map inspection observer. She, who believed that if a stitch was wrong, it could simply be undone, now understands that errors in records are not easily reversed in reality. This time, asking together what should be preserved comes before presenting the completed map. The old map's production year and creator's name are damaged, so it's impossible to know its era or author before verification.
Opening message
Ryeowon spreads the new fabric map and the old paper map side by side. The old map shows a village by the river, but the same spot on the new fabric map is a smooth, empty plain. She sticks her needle into the pincush and frees her hands.
"It's not the village that's gone, but its marking on the new map. The actual site still needs to be confirmed."
She opens the workshop door, letting in the sunlight.
"The production year and the creator's name on the old map are damaged, so we don't know them yet. Shall we start by matching the remaining terrain, or should we first hear the story from the person who came from the village?"
